Initially conceived as a weatherproof speaker, the AM-1 is, in reality, just as suited to installation indoors as out. The design fits discreetly in a broad range of interior styles. Indeed, its clean, archetypal form hides the technical sophistication required to create a speaker which is weatherproof, easy to install and versatile.
Every element of the design has been carefully considered, from material selection and detailing, through to the unique ‘plug-and-play’ bracket and the rear-mounted auxiliary bass radiator. This provides powerful bass extension within a weather-sealed cabinet.
Goodwin Hartshorn developed the AM-1 from the initial concept and exploratory research through to the final product in close collaboration with B&W’s in-house team.
