The suction irrigator (SI) is a specialist tool for keyhole surgery. It has two uses; to remove debris and rinse inside the patient’s abdomen. Current SIs are very difficult to use and have poor performance. This new device is different; it is ergonomically designed, requires substantially less force to operate and incorporates both high- and low-pressure irrigation. This unique device has been considered from the bottom up including analysis of how valves operate and how the device could be more intuitive. Patents pending and design registered.
