Project: Disposable Scalpels

Surgical scalpels must be disposable to prevent infection. Since they cannot be recycled, these scalpels are designed to be environmentally friendlier by saving 40% of the plastic and 70% of the steel used in other scalpels. They utilise a novel plastic moulding process – water-injection moulding – to make possible a form that is comfortable, safer and cheaper to manufacture than previous designs. Design registered.
