Project: Hometime, China

Client: British Council

Date: 2002

The objective of this project, a room within the British Council's 'Hometime' Exhibition, was to generate a space with older people in mind. Through user-centred research, we explored the process of designing ‘with’ rather than ‘for’. The key focus was a video installation showing interviews with a broad range of older people discussing design. Interviewees included Sir Terence Conran, designer Kenneth Grange and typographer Margaret Calvert. This room was exhibited in China alongside rooms designed by Tom Dixon, Tord Boontje and Michael Marriott amongst others. The image shows stills from the video installation.
